The beginning of THIS part of my journey
After relocating to Australia, I trained and qualified to become a celebrant, and I completed my application to the Attorney General and became a Commonwealth Registered Marriage Celebrant.
With this came the freedom and the responsibility to marry any person within Australia wishing to express their love to the person of their choice.
It is a very satisfying feeling that I can observe any cultural, religious and traditional custom and ritual or participate in a ceremony that does not emphasize any particular religion or culture.
The truth of the matter is that ceremonies like weddings and funerals is one of the oldest rituals known, but what your actual ceremony looks like is a matter for your imagination. Going the traditional route is a respected option, but doing something far from tradition can always be explored without judgement.
